Casali del Barone, Barbera 2023

Casali del Barone is one of the labels of the Vallebeldo Cooperative; a winery made up of 150 small growers who come together to produce their wine as one. Calling the region of Piedmont home, they focus on the rich reds and elegant whites for which the north of Italy is best known. Glossy and ripe, this modern Barbera balances plush fruit with Piemonte charm. Aromas of violets, black cherry, and plum leap from the glass, underpinned by sweet spice and a hint of cocoa. The palate is juicy and generous, with soft tannins, vibrant acidity, and notes of ripe blackberry, sour cherry, and a dusting of dark chocolate. A touch of oak adds polish without overpowering the fruit. Slick, crowd-pleasing, and effortlessly drinkable.
